Brigitte Leal is a Chilean lawyer and legal scholar with over eleven years of professional and academic experience in public law, regulated markets, and environmental regulation. She holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Cambridge (Cambridge International Trust Scholar), an LL.M. from New York University (Hauser Global Scholar), and an LL.B. from the Universidad de Chile, graduating summa cum laude.

Her doctoral research at Cambridge focused on environmental liability of corporations for atmospheric damage in Chile, combining tort law, administrative law, and environmental regulation. She is the author of widely cited publications in administrative law and the book La Potestad de Inspección de la Administración del Estado. Her academic work has been recognized with multiple prizes, including the Chilean Constitutional Court’s award for best public law thesis.

She currently serves as a professor of administrative law, environmental law, and economic regulation at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. She is also a Young Arbitrator at CAM Santiago (Santiago Chamber of Commerce Arbitration and Mediation Center). Her legal practice focuses on public law advisory work, regulatory affairs, environmental policy, and alternative dispute resolution, for domestic clients, international entities and non-profit organizations.
